INTERCEDE
Rising Point for Christ
“The Wellspring: Finding Satisfaction in Christ”—John 4:1-26
Our Call: Drink Deeply. Worship Truly. Proclaim Boldly.
(Drink & Worship: The Satisfying Christ)
Oct 3rd — 5th, 2025
A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
It is with great joy that I welcome you to our Annual Three Days of Prayer and Fasting for 2025.
This sacred tradition, which we observe on the first Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of October each year, is a divine opportunity to collectively pause, refocus, and draw nearer to our Almighty God. As we center our hearts on His sovereignty, grace, and power, let us remember that our God is not only in ultimate control but is also rich in mercy, love, and ever-attentive to our prayers.
Let this be more than a routine; see it as a profound invitation and a privilege to encounter the very heart of God.
I encourage you to approach each day's devotion and prayer with intentionality. Meditate on His Word, pray earnestly, and carve out intimate moments with the Lord. Whether you are fasting from food, distractions, or other comforts, do it with a sincere desire to know Christ more deeply. May every sacrifice point us to the One who gave everything for us. I pray this will be a time of significant spiritual breakthrough and transformation for you, your family, and our entire Rising Point for Christ community.
Our theme this year is “The Wellspring: Finding Satisfaction in Christ” (John 4:1-26). I urge each of us to embrace this call to: Drink Deeply of His living water, Worship Truly in spirit and truth, Proclaim Boldly the goodness of our Satisfying Christ.
Following this period of seeking God’s face, we will turn our focus to our Mission to Bubweju, under the theme: “FROM GRACE TO GOODNESS: Imitating God's Goodness by Doing Good” — shining Jesus' light in a world in need (Galatians 6:9-10; Matthew 5:16).
May the Lord richly bless us as we seek Him together as one body in Christ.
Your fellow servant in Christ,
.....................
SILAS ORIOKOT
PRESIDENT, RISING POINT FOR CHRIST
LET'S PRAY AND FAST TOGETHER
Our Annual Prayer and Fasting is a sacred time for our Rising Point for Christ family to express our complete dependence on God and realign our hearts with His will.
This October, as we gather from Friday to Sunday, we are reminded that while God powerfully answers prayer, He Himself is our ultimate reward—the true source of our satisfaction. He is the living water we drink and the Lord we worship.
We joyfully welcome you to join us for this year's gathering under the theme: “The Wellspring: Finding Satisfaction in Christ”
—John 4:1-26

A Guide to Prayer & Fasting
What is Prayer?
Prayer is the vital practice of conversing and communing with God. It involves both speaking to Him and listening for His voice, with the ultimate purpose of aligning our will with His. We approach God the Father in the name of Jesus, grounded in the truth of His Word, and guided by the Holy Spirit. Through prayer, we worship God, express thanksgiving, present our needs and intercede for others, and seek the advancement of His Kingdom in our lives and world (Matthew 6:9-13; 1 John 5:14-15; John 16:23-24; Jude 1:20).
What is Fasting?
Fasting is the voluntary abstinence from food for a spiritual purpose. It is a tangible act of humility that expresses repentance, deepens our seeking of God’s will, and creates space for greater intimacy with Him through extended prayer and Scripture reading. By setting aside something as essential as food, we demonstrate the sincerity of our desire to draw near to God, humbly seeking His guidance, provision, and spiritual breakthrough in our lives.
While modern believers may also fast from other activities (like entertainment or social media), abstaining from food is the primary biblical model because it signifies choosing God’s pleasure over our most basic physical need (Nehemiah 1:4; Daniel 9:3; Joel 2:12; Matthew 6:16-18; Acts 13:2).
Why Should We Fast?
1. It is an Expected Spiritual Discipline:
Jesus instructed, “When you fast...” not “If you fast...” (Matthew 6:16-17). Like prayer, fasting is a normal part of the Christian life.
2. Jesus Modeled It:
Before beginning His public ministry, Jesus fasted for forty days, relying on spiritual strength for the task ahead (Matthew 4:2).
3. The Early Church Practiced It:
The early church fasted for crucial decisions, such as commissioning missionaries and appointing elders (Acts 13:3; 14:23).
4. It Demonstrates Humility:
Fasting is a physical act of humbling ourselves before God, which positions us to receive His grace (Psalm 35:13; 1 Kings 21:27-29).
5. It Increases Spiritual Sensitivity:
Fasting helps us focus on God above all else, making us more attentive to the leading of the Holy Spirit (Luke 4:1-2; Acts 13:2).
6. It Can Bring Revival:
Both personal and corporate fasting are linked to spiritual awakening and healing (2 Chronicles 7:14; Daniel 9:3).
Types of Fasts
Normal Fast:
Abstaining from all food for a set period while drinking water. (Consult a doctor before extended fasts).
Partial Fast:
Restricting your diet (e.g., one meal a day, or abstaining from certain foods like Daniel in Daniel 10:3).
Juice Fast:
Consuming only fruit or vegetable juices to maintain strength.
Object Fast:
Abstaining from a non-food activity (e.g., social media, television) to dedicate that time to prayer.
Practical Guidelines
Prepare Spiritually and Physically:
Gradually reduce food intake, especially caffeine, before starting. Pray for God’s strength.
Break Your Fast Gradually:
Do not return to a normal diet immediately. Begin with soft, easily digestible foods in small amounts.
Important Precautions
Consult your doctor before fasting if you: are underweight, have a chronic illness (like diabetes), are pregnant or nursing, take medication, or have a history of eating disorders.
A Pattern for Prayer: C.A.S.T.
As you pray through Scripture during this time, use the C.A.S.T. model as a guide:
C - Confession:
Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal any sin. Humbly confess and receive God’s forgiveness (1 John 1:9).
A - Adoration:
Worship God for who He is. Praise His holy character and attributes.
S - Supplication:
Present your requests to God. Pray for the world, the church, your community, your family, and your personal needs (Philippians 4:6).
T - Thanksgiving:
Thank God for His specific blessings and for hearing your prayers. Approach Him with a grateful heart (1 Thessalonians 5:18).
DEVOTIONS
DAY 1: Friday, October 3, 2025
Theme: Recognizing Our Need & God's Invitation
Morning Session (9:30 AM - 10:00 AM)
Topic: The Emptiness of Worldly Wells (The Vanity of Earthly Pursuits)
Contributor: Joel Olupot & Esther Marion Aceko
Read It:
Ecclesiastes 2:11 (NIV)– “Yet when I surveyed all that my hands had done and what I had toiled to achieve, everything was meaningless, a chasing after the wind; nothing was gained under the sun.”
Luke 12:15 (NIV)– “Then he said to them, ‘Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.’”
(Read the full contexts: Ecclesiastes 2:1-11, Luke 12:13-21)
Meditate on It:
1. Solomon had more wealth, wisdom, and pleasure than anyone, yet he called it “chasing after the wind.” What does this reveal about the nature of worldly success?
2. Jesus warns against “all kinds of greed.” Beyond money, what else can we greedily pursue that promises life but delivers emptiness (e.g., approval, success, comfort)?
3. Where in my own life do I see a pattern of striving for something that, once achieved, leaves me feeling empty or thirsty for more?
Apply It:
Brief Write-up: King Solomon's experiment proves that every pursuit under the sun—apart from God—is ultimately meaningless. Jesus confirms this, warning that defining our lives by what we possess is a spiritual trap. True life is not found in the abundance of possessions but in the abundance of a relationship with God. Recognizing the vanity of earthly pursuits is the first step toward turning to the only source of true satisfaction: Christ.
SMART Commitment:
This week, I will identify one activity or pursuit I use to find comfort or significance apart from God. I will fast from it for 24 hours and use that time to seek God in prayer.
Pray (Using C.A.S.T.):
Confession:
“Lord, I confess I have often chased after worldly things—like success, approval, and comfort—expecting them to satisfy me. Forgive me for these acts of greed and for seeking life in creation rather than the Creator.”
Adoration:
“I praise you, God, as the only true source of meaning and life. You are the unchanging, eternal satisfaction for my soul. In your presence is fullness of joy.”
Supplication:
“Holy Spirit, make me acutely aware of when I am ‘chasing the wind.’ Give me the wisdom to recognize vanity and the strength to turn away from it toward Christ.”
Thanksgiving:
“Thank you for your patience with me. Thank you that your offer of living water is free and that you invite me to find my ultimate satisfaction in you alone.”

Afternoon Session (4:30 PM - 5:30 PM)
Topic: The Gracious Invitation (The Free Gift of Grace)
Contributor: Henry Okedi
Read It:
“Ho! Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; And you who have no money, Come, buy and eat... Without money and without price.” — Isaiah 55:1 (NKJV)
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.” — Romans 3:23-24 (NIV)
Meditate on It:
1. What does the imagery of coming to the waters “without money and without price” reveal about the nature of God's gift?
2. In what ways do I sometimes still try to “earn” God's approval instead of receiving His free gift?
3. How does knowing that justification is a free gift of grace, not a wage, change my relationship with God?
Apply It:
Brief Write-up: These passages demolish any notion that we can earn God's favor. We all stand on level ground—sinners in need of grace. God's solution is not a transaction but a free, generous invitation to receive everything we need in Christ: forgiveness, righteousness, and satisfaction. Our only appropriate response is to come in humble faith and receive what He has already provided.
SMART Commitment:
This week, I will identify one area where I struggle with performance-based spirituality and will intentionally pause to receive God's grace in that moment, thanking Him for His free gift.
Pray (Using C.A.S.T.):
Confession:
“Lord, I confess that I often try to justify myself through my own efforts. I have sinned and fall short of your glory. Forgive me for ignoring your gracious invitation and trying to pay for what is free.”
Adoration:
“I praise you, God, for your magnificent generosity! You are the gracious Father who invites the thirsty, the poor, and the bankrupt to come and be satisfied at your expense.”
Thanksgiving:
“Thank you for the priceless gift of grace, purchased by the redemption of Christ Jesus. Thank you that my standing with you is secure not because of my work, but because of His.”
Supplication:
“Holy Spirit, make me deeply aware of your grace. Help me to stop striving and to simply receive. Give me courage to extend this same invitation to someone else who is thirsty.”

DAY 2: Saturday, October 4, 2025
Theme: Receiving from Christ as Our Source
Morning Session (9:30 AM - 10:00 AM)
Topic: The Gracious Invitation (God's Initiative to Meet Our Need)
Contributor: Justus Ainembabazi
Read It:
John 4:10 (NIV)– “Jesus answered her, ‘If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.’”
Revelation 22:17 (NIV)– “The Spirit and the bride say, ‘Come!’ … let the one who wishes take the free gift of the water of life.”
Meditate on It:
1. How do these verses demonstrate that God always makes the first move toward us?
2. Why do we often fail to recognize our deepest need and God’s offer to meet it?
3. What does it mean that the invitation comes from both the Spirit and the Church (the bride)?
Apply It:
Brief Write-up: Our relationship with God begins not with our search, but with His gracious invitation. Like the woman at the well, we are often unaware of our true need until Christ interrupts our routine. He is the seeking Shepherd who finds His lost sheep. Recognizing this humbles us and stirs deep gratitude, reminding us that we receive salvation as a gift; we do not achieve it.
SMART Commitment:
Today, I will pause and acknowledge one specific way God has graciously sought me out. I will thank Him for His initiative in my life.
Pray (Using C.A.S.T.):
Confession:
“Lord, I confess my pride in thinking I can satisfy my own needs. Forgive me for ignoring your daily invitations.”
Adoration:
“I adore you, Father, as the God who seeks the lost, who invites the weary, and who offers living water to all who are thirsty.”
Supplication:
“Holy Spirit, open my ears to hear your invitation today. Give me a receptive heart to respond to your grace.”
Thanksgiving:
“Thank you for your relentless pursuit of me. Thank you that my salvation depends on your love, not my worthiness.”
Prayer Journal:

.............................................................................................................................................
Afternoon Session (4:30 PM - 5:30 PM)
Topic: The Cry for True Satisfaction (The Promise for the Thirsty)
Contributor: Joel Olupot and Esther Marion Aceko
Read It:
Matthew 5:6 (NIV)- “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.”
Isaiah 55:1-2 (NIV)- “Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost. Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy?”
Meditate on It:
1. What does it feel like to truly “hunger and thirst” for righteousness in my current spiritual walk?
2. How have I been spending my “money” (time, energy, resources) on what does not satisfy?
3. What might be preventing me from fully accepting God's free invitation to come and be satisfied?
Apply It:
Brief Write-up: God makes a staggering promise: those who recognize their spiritual poverty and desperately seek His righteousness will be completely satisfied. This is not about earning but about receiving. Like Zacchaeus, we may be successful yet empty, until we respond to Christ's invitation. Our role is simply to come—with our thirst, our emptiness, our need—and receive what He freely offers: Himself.
SMART Commitment:
Today, when I feel unsatisfied or restless, I will pause and pray: “Lord, I am thirsty. You promised to fill those who come to you. I receive your living water now.”
Pray (Using C.A.S.T.):
Confession:
“Father, I confess I have often sought satisfaction in things that cannot fill me. I have spent my resources on what is not bread and my energy on what does not satisfy.”
Adoration:
“I praise you, God, for your generous invitation! You are the living water, the bread of life, the source of all true satisfaction who calls the thirsty to come without cost.”
Supplication:
“Holy Spirit, create in me a deeper hunger and thirst for righteousness. Make me desperate for you alone. Draw me to the waters of salvation daily.”
Thanksgiving:
“Thank you for the promise that those who come to you will never be turned away. Thank you for the blessedness of being filled with your presence and righteousness.”

DAY 3: Sunday, October 5, 2025
Theme: Responding in Worship and Witness
Morning Session (9:30 AM - 10:00 AM)
Topic: The Nature of the Savior (The Supremacy and Sufficiency of Christ)
Contributor: Justus Ainembabazi
Read It:
Colossians 1:15-20 (NIV)– [He is the image of the invisible God...]
John 6:35 (NIV)– “Then Jesus declared, ‘I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.’”
Meditate on It:
1. According to Colossians, what is Christ’s position over all creation? What is His position in the Church?
2. If Christ holds all things together, what does that say about my daily problems and needs?
3. What “lesser sources” of happiness and security do I turn to instead of trusting Christ’s sufficiency?
Apply It:
Brief Write-up: Christ is both supreme over all and sufficient for all. His name is above every name, and His power is above every problem. He is not a last resort; He is our first and only necessary source. Nothing else can complete our joy or strengthen our hearts. Finding our rest in Him is the key to a satisfied life, freeing us from the endless chase of worldly things.
SMART Commitment:
I will write down one recurring worry or need. Each day this week, I will consciously surrender it to Christ, acknowledging Him as my supreme and sufficient provider.
Pray (Using C.A.S.T.):
Confession:
“Heavenly Father, I confess I have run after earthly things for satisfaction, forgetting your abundant supply in Christ.”
Adoration:
“I adore you, Jesus, as the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. You are before all things, and in you, all things hold together.”
Thanksgiving:
“Thank you for being the bread of life who satisfies my soul completely. Thank you that your resources are infinite and available to me.”
Supplication:
“Lord, when I am tempted to believe you are not enough, remind me of your supremacy and sufficiency. Anchor my soul in this truth.”

Afternoon Session (4:30 PM - 5:30 PM)
Topic: The Overflowing Testimony (Sharing the Source)
Contributor: Silas Oriokot
Read It:
John 4:28-30, 39 (NIV)– “Then, leaving her water jar, the woman went back to the town and said to the people, ‘Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Messiah?’... Many of the Samaritans from that town believed in him because of the woman’s testimony...”
Acts 4:20 (NIV)– “As for us, we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.”
Meditate on It:
1. What does the woman’s immediate action of leaving her water jar and going to the town symbolize?
2. What is the connection between receiving living water and having a testimony to share?
3. What fears or hesitations prevent me from naturally sharing what Christ has done for me?
Apply It:
Brief Write-up: A genuine encounter with Jesus Christ is impossible to contain. The Samaritan woman, having met the Messiah, immediately became a witness, and many believed because of her testimony. When we have truly “drunk” from the Wellspring, our lives will naturally overflow with a desire for others to know Him. Our testimony is not a polished speech, but a simple, powerful account of how we met the satisfying Christ.
SMART Commitment:
This week, I will pray for one opportunity to share with a friend or family member one way God has satisfied me during this prayer and fasting period.
Pray (Using C.A.S.T.):
Confession:
“Lord, I confess that I often keep the gift of your satisfaction to myself. Forgive me for my silence and fear.”
Adoration:
“I worship you, Jesus, as the Messiah, the Savior of the world. You are so wonderful that you transform sinners into messengers.”
Supplication:
“Holy Spirit, give me the courage and the words to share my testimony naturally and authentically. Open doors for me to point others to you.”
Thanksgiving:
“Thank you for the woman of Samaria and her boldness. Thank you for the privilege of being part of your work by simply telling others what we have experienced in you.”

A Guide to the Lord's Supper at Home
Scripture Reading:
1 Corinthians 11:23-29
Why We Celebrate Together
Even though we are connecting online, we are one body in Christ. The Lord's Supper is a sacred time for us to unite in remembering Jesus' sacrifice. We obey His command to celebrate this meal as a powerful reminder of His love, “proclaiming the Lord’s death until he comes” (v. 26).
Preparing Your Heart and Your Elements
1. Prepare Your Heart:
This is the most important preparation. Find a quiet space. Spend a few moments in prayer, asking God to quiet your heart.
Reflect with Thanksgiving:
Thank Jesus for His salvation, His forgiveness, and His presence in your life.
Examine Your Heart:
Confess any sins and receive His grace. Reaffirm your faith in Him.
2. Prepare Your Elements:
The elements are symbols. What matters is what they represent, not what they are. If you don't have traditional bread and grape juice, that's okay. The early church used what was available to them. You can use:
For the Bread:
Any simple bread or cracker you have available.
For the Cup:
We will be using passion fruit juice or a clear soda like Mirinda as a modern alternative. Please prepare a small glass of whichever you have.
The Meaning of the Elements
As we partake, remember:
The Bread symbolizes the body of Jesus, broken for you on the cross.
The Cup symbolizes the blood of Jesus, shed for you to establish a new covenant of grace.
Partaking is an act of faith, saying, “I remember what You did for me, and I trust in You alone.”
The Celebration
(The leader will guide the online congregation through these steps together.)
Partake of the Bread:
“On the night He was betrayed, Jesus took bread, gave thanks, broke it, and said, ‘This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.’ Let us eat together, remembering His sacrifice.”
(Eat the bread you have prepared.)
Partake of the Cup:
“After supper, He took the cup, saying, ‘This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.’ Let us drink together, thankful for His grace.”
(Drink the juice or soda you have prepared.)
Let's close in a moment of silent prayer, thanking God for His incredible gift.
